The Curaçao Film Liga started in 2017. It grew out of the Curaçao International Film Festival, a group of film lovers who kept showing up, kept talking after the credits, and eventually asked: why wait a full year for the next one?

With enough names on a list, it became an association. Twelve films a year. One per month. Screened for members at The Movies Otrobanda, chosen for quality, not for box office.

Covid interrupted that rhythm in 2020. The Liga went quiet, the way most things did. But when screenings came back, so did the members and so did the conversation.

That conversation is still going.
