On the edge of the Gobi Desert in northwestern China, Lang returns to his hometown after being released from prison. While working with the local dog patrol team to rid the city of stray dogs ahead of the Olympic Games, he forms an unlikely bond with a black dog. Together, these two lonely souls set out on a journey.
